Chandler company makes Haiti donation for 1.2 million meals

IsaLean Shakes

CHANDLER, AZ — A Valley company specializing in health and wellness products is donating more than 45,000 canisters of nutritional shakes to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

The meal-replacement shakes, called IsaLean, will be donated by Isagenix to Stop Hunger Now, a relief organization that is partnered with Mission of Hope in Port Au Prince.

According to company officials, the U.N. estimates only a quarter of the two million Haitians needing food have received any.

“It’s devastating seeing thousands of Haitians charge down the street for only two distribution trucks of food,” said Isagenix Co-Founder Kathy Coover. “Everyone deserves to have a high-quality nutritious meal and we can provide that.”

The shakes provide balanced amounts of quality protein, “good” carbohydrates and fats, and a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals, according to Isagenix.

Company spokesman Tobin Ernst said some of the product has already been shipped.
