(Former Major) Lee-Ann Quinn Nurse Practitioner – On Serving in Afghanistan
Hello, my name is Lee-Anne Quinn. I live in Peterborough and work full-time as a Nurse Practitioner.
I retired as a Major from the Canadian Forces (regular force) in Sept 2008. As a Nurse Practitioner I was deployed to
Afghanistan from July 08 to March 09. During my tour, I performed duties on the Base of Kandahar, out at the Forward Operating Bases (FOB’s) and at the Front Lines.
I am pleased to inform you that I brought and had shipped to me Isagenix Products. We work long hard hours in Afghanistan. Nobody can really appreciate the mental and physical demands unless you have been there. There is extensive pressure on us to perform and be alert at all times. Most of my workdays were 16 hours long, every day, no days off. Isagenix Products were my “savior” over in Afghanistan, they were extremely helpful to me during my intense 9 months of pre-deployment training as well!
The food provided by the collation forces, including the Canadian Forces is of adequate nutrient content; but it is just that. You need more for your system to be constantly mentally and physically alert for extended hours. At times you can’t make it to the eating tent depending on what you are doing. On several occasions if I didn’t have my IsaLean Shake, IsaLean Bar, Isagenix Essentials Vitamin products with me then I would have completely, missed a meal. On several occasions I simply went with the Isagenix Products because of their nutritional value. I am a strong supporter of the Isagenix Products. It makes sense to give your body the fuel it needs to perform.
In Afghanistan the average solider drinks 16 bottles of water per day, there are always plenty of bottles of water for the soldiers (thousands and thousands) which makes the mixing of the powder shake very accessible! It makes perfect sense I would often choose an Isagenix Shake and IsaLean Bar over an Individual Meal Pack (IMPs have a shelf life of 10 yrs)…Isagenix is so much better for you.
The crystal drink mixes, Want More Energy are easy to carry in your uniform pocket, just add them to a bottle of water. (A great electrolyte replacement with both minerals and vitamins acts as a great recovery drink and supplement in such a hot climate).
We would have a stronger and more fit force if we were all on Isagenix. I wish I’d had these products on previous tours to Somalia, Rwanda, Former Yugoslavia.
I continue to use Isagenix products in my civilian life. I advocate this product all the time to my patients and refer them to the experts, Dr. Jeff and Maura Lustig.
