Mexico is truly the next “land of opportunity”
Our vision at Isagenix is to impact world health and free people from physical and financial pain. When we considered the opportunities available globally for our international expansion, it didn’t take long for us to realize where our next home should be: Mexico. Mexico is truly the next ?land of opportunity? when it comes to network marketing. The direct selling industry is popular and thriving in the country with more than 1.9 million distributors in Mexico bringing in over $3.9 billion in revenue every year, according to the Direct Selling Association. In addition, the U.S. Hispanic Market continues to expand and is the fastest growing minority group nationwide representing over 50 million people in the U.S. alone. Of that, 80 percent are of Mexican decent. We’re looking forward with eager anticipation to taking our next steps and entering Mexico next summer. We already provide many Spanish-language resources in the Back Office so you can reach your Spanish-speaking prospects, including videos, sales tools and much more.
President Filipe Calderon has just recently declared Mexico to be “the #1 country in the world of Obesity.” What a great opportunity for a country suffering from physical pain to have an opportunity like Isagenix. I personally believe (I live down here in Cabo) that Mexico’s economy is rising as a result of “new opportunities”, which these humble people are starving for.
In January the president of Mexico, Felipe Calederon, declared that the country now occupies the number one spot in adult and childhood obesity. It also holds the number one spot in childhood diabetes. Although this had been predicted for over 15 years, the Mexican population has not been educated enough to combat the dangers of consuming fast foods, sugars, fats, salts and carbohydrates in excess. The trend that has been seen in the last few years is that Mexicans have oust traditional eating habits for a more modern take on consuming fast food. Although an effort was done to encourage eating more fruits and vegetables by advertising it on labels of processed foods, it was not enough and the effects of consuming junk food were never advertised. There was never a clear warning about the dangers of this change in lifestyle. About 70% of the population in Mexico is overweight. Diseases related with obesity have become more prominent in Mexico and as result healthcare costs have risen dramatically. It is estimated that there has been about a 60% increase in healthcare costs directly associated with overweight and obesity. Another area of concern is the death rate from diabetes, which is the number one reason for death in the country. Unfortunately about 90% of the all the cases were triggered by overweight and obesity. However, the other side of the coin shows a high rate of malnutrition in rural areas. Seven out ten children suffer from malnutrition. Source: Primer Lugar Mundial en Obesidad. http://globedia.com/mexico-mundial-obesidad
